Success Story- Prof. Nitsa Movshovitz-Hadar

A Proud Story Of One Of Our Clients

Bringing a New Approach to Math Education Around the World

Prof. Nitsa Movshovitz-Hadar is a world-renowned and respected professor of math education at the Technion Institute in Haifa. With the help of Prof. Atara Shriki of Oranim College, Prof. Movshovitz-Hadar wrote a revolutionary book in Hebrew on math education, and they were in need of a translator with expertise in both mathematics and education to translate the book into English.

Prof. Movshovitz-Hadar turned to Academic Language Experts and asked if we could help. We immediately offered her our samples process, whereby we asked a number of our experts in the fields of mathematics and education to translate a short section from the book for Prof. Movshovitz-Hadar’s review and evaluation.

Prof. Movshovitz-Hadar Picks Her Preferred Translator

After careful review, Prof. Movshovitz-Hadar decided on Yael, one of our best translators in the field of mathematics. Making good use of her Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and her master’s in translation studies, Yael was the perfect fit for the translation and began work immediately. Over the course of the next few months, Yael translated the manuscript chapter-by-chapter. ALE editor Avi Kallenbach reviewed and edited Yael’s work to ensure the text was ready for academic publication. The chapters were all delivered in a timely fashion, allowing the authors time for review and feedback.

The Results- A Manuscript Ready for Publication

After receiving each chapter, the authors sent us their feedback and style preferences, all of which we incorporated into the final version of the manuscript. Thanks to the authors’ innovative teaching approach and clear methodology, the book quickly garnered the interest and attention of a number of publishers. It was recently published by World Scientific under the title: Logic in Wonderland: An Introduction to Logic Through Reading Alice in Wonderland and has already made a considerable impact among math educators around the world.

It was an honor and pleasure working with Prof. Movshovitz-Hadar, and we continue to work with her on her ongoing research.
